This time we stayed a total of four nights at different hotels and enjoyed our stay at each resort as much as time allowed! So, this paper will introduce two of the finest resorts by the sea.
If you are entering Bali by domestic flight as in this case, you will need to pay at the counter near the exit of the international arrival lobby, as there is no place to pay at the exit of the domestic terminal at this time.
The Bali Provincial Government has imposed and collected a “tourism tax” of 150,000 rupiah (approximately 1,380 yen) per person for foreign tourists visiting Bali, starting in February 2024.
Mulia Resort, Nusa Dua’s premier resort hotel
The first hotel is “The Mulia, Mulia Resort & Villas” (Mulia Bali), located in the Nusa Dua area of southern Bali. Nusa Dua is an area in Bali with a high concentration of luxury resorts. Among them, the Mulia Bali has been chosen as one of the most beautiful beachfront hotels in the world, and is sometimes referred to as a “six-star” hotel instead of a five-star hotel! And while there are many foreign-affiliated luxury resort hotels, Mulia Bali is also a national brand in Indonesia.
The Mulia Bali has three different types of hotels, “The Mulia,” “Mulia Resort,” and “Mulia Villas,” all of which are located on an expansive site the size of 6.5 Tokyo Dome. This time I stayed at the Muria Resort, which consists of 6 buildings and 526 rooms, and is the largest of the 3 types of hotels.
We used the Signature Ocean Court. It was a nice room with a balcony overlooking a large space courtyard and the Indian Ocean. All rooms have a bathtub, and the double sink vanity was a nice touch. The interior decorated in calm tones made us feel at ease.
The next morning after waking up feeling good in a comfortable bed, participate in yoga, a daily activity, and then (how healthy!) After participating in the daily yoga activity (how healthy!), I went to “The Café”, the breakfast venue. There was a wide variety of drinks, fruits, and sweets, and the food genres included Indonesian, Japanese, Chinese, and many other international cuisines.
At Mulia Bali, you can experience Balinese culture through various activities such as Balinese dance classes and making canang sari (offerings). There is even a Balinese calligraphy writing class. You can write your own name in Balinese letters. I would like to try it!
There are various restaurants in the resort, including Soleil, which serves Mediterranean and Asian cuisine, Table 8, which offers Cantonese and Szechuan cuisine, and Edogin, a Japanese restaurant that offers a teppanyaki buffet, among others. This time I had a six-course dinner at Soleil by the pool, and the seafood was especially delicious.
Let me show you the other rooms we were able to preview. First is the “Royal Suite Beach Front” at the Muria Resort. The balcony overlooks the vast Indian Ocean. Surrounded by elegant interior design, it looks like you can enjoy a stay of a higher rank. The bathtub is placed in the best place.
Next is “The Mulia,” consisting of 105 rooms, all of which are suites. The 1km-long white sand beach stretched out in front of us, and the oceanfront infinity pool that seemed to follow the beach was too beautiful to be true!
The photo shows The Baron Suite, which is 105m2 in size. There are ocean view and garden view, but the rooms are the same. The Mulia comes with a 24-hour butler service (English speaking) where you can ask for restaurant reservations, etc.
Mulia Villas is located on a hill overlooking the beach, and all 108 villas are completely private with pools and gardens, and even the smallest room has an area of 505 m2! The villa is a perfect hideaway for an adult holiday, and I could not help but sigh. The Mulia Villas also come with a 24-hour butler service.
Personally, I was most impressed by the courtyard full of tropical flowers and plants, and the diverse and beautiful swimming pool nestled in it at Mulia Bali. The resort has many spots for kids to have fun, and I recommend it for a family stay.
