JR West has updated the Sanyo Shinkansen operation plan due to the approach of Typhoon No. 10, announcing that today, August 29, the service between Hiroshima and Hakata Stations will be suspended ahead of schedule (as of 9:20 a.m., August 29). The plan was previously announced as “generally cancelled after 9:00 p.m.,” but now it will be “generally cancelled after 5:00 p.m..” The train will be in service from 9:00 p.m. onward.

On August 30, “planned service suspension” will be implemented on the Sanyo Shinkansen Line (between Hiroshima and Hakata Stations) and Hakata Minami Line (between Hakata and Hakata Minami Stations) from the first departure to the morning.
The company also urges passengers to continue to check the latest information on the Sanyo Shinkansen Line (between Shin-Osaka and Hakata Stations) and Hakata-Minami Line (between Hakata and Hakata-Minami Stations) on August 31, as train operations may be suspended depending on the path of the typhoon and other factors.
JR Tokai has again changed the destinations of trains that directly connect from the Tokaido Shinkansen due to the “planned suspension” of the Sanyo Shinkansen (as of 10:30 a.m. on August 29).
The last train from Tokyo to Hakata will be the “Nozomi 35” (departing Tokyo at 13:12, Nagoya at 14:49, Kyoto at 15:25, and Shin-Osaka at 15:41) for direct trains from the Tokaido Shinkansen. The last train on the Sanyo Shinkansen will be the “Mizuho 609” (departing Shin-Osaka at 15:54).
