Name: InterContinental Hotel Osaka
Location: 3-60 Ohfuka-cho, Kita-ku, Osaka City
–How did you come to work at the InterContinental Hotel Osaka?
I first met the InterContinental Hotel Osaka when I worked there as Guest Experience Director when it opened. I still remember the energy and vibrancy I felt when I first visited the hotel, and I was pleased to see that the same energy was present when I returned as General Manager in May 2024, and that the hotel continues to provide excellent service today. I have great fond memories of the InterContinental Hotel as a hotel where the team worked together to create a highly satisfying experience with quality service that is typical of an InterContinental Hotel at the time of its opening.
–What kind of hotel is it?
The InterContinental Hotel Osaka has a beautiful interior design and décor, but most of all it is the team that makes sure everyone who visits is treated with the utmost hospitality. There is a hotel staff that provides personalized service tailored to each guest’s needs and provides a highly satisfying lodging experience. And thanks to their teamwork and service, the specialty restaurant Pierre has been listed in the Michelin Guide as a one-star restaurant for eight consecutive years, and the hotel has become a favorite among many repeat guests. We will continue to make every effort to satisfy our guests.
–What is the InterContinental Hotel Osaka’s unique experience?
As you step into the hotel, you will be greeted by our Guest Services team, and upon arrival at the 20th floor lobby, you will be greeted by a variety of hotel staff members along with beautiful artwork that adorns the space. The high quality of service that our guests have come to expect from us ensures a luxurious experience for all our guests.
–please let me know if you have any personal favorites tourist spots or restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel.
Shinsekai” is a must experience when you come to Osaka. By strolling through Shinsekai and visiting both “Abeno Harukas” and “Tsutenkaku Tower,” you will enjoy the evolution of Osaka Minami as if you have stepped back in time. Then, return to “InterContinental Hotel Osaka” via Dotonbori, Namba, Amerika-mura, Tachibana-dori, Midosuji, Nakanoshima, and Osaka Castle from Denden Town. We recommend such a route for sightseeing in Osaka.
–What restaurant menu do you recommend?
A must-try when you come to Osaka is Pierre, a specialty restaurant listed in the Michelin Guide, which is the pride of our hotel, as mentioned above. Not only can you enjoy seasonal ingredients, but the accented spices and inventive cuisine will allow you to enjoy French cuisine that you have never tasted before with all your senses.
–What souvenirs do you recommend?
Osaka-e YOKAN” is a typical Osaka sweet from Takayama-do. It has a colorful and lively appearance typical of Osaka, but it is also a gem of traditional Japanese confectionary making with reliable techniques.
