The second phase of “Grand Green Osaka,” a large-scale redevelopment project on the north side of JR Osaka Station, will open on September 6.

About 40% of the facilities in Grand Green Osaka are completed out of the approximately 91,150 m2 site. The commercial facility “Shops & Restaurants” in the North District, the first hotel in Japan “Canopy by Hilton”, and the lawn plaza in the South District will open.

Prior to the opening on April 6, a preview of the facility was held for related parties and the press, giving them a first-hand experience of Grand Green Osaka.

Among the hotels, the Canopy by Hilton Osaka Umeda (6-38 Ohuka-cho, Kita-ku, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture) stood out in particular for its presence. Launched in 2014, “Canopy by Hilton” is Hilton’s brand of community-based lifestyle hotels that incorporate the culture of the area where the hotel is located into their design and service. Canopy by Hilton Osaka Umeda is the first Hilton hotel to open in Japan.

The hotel will occupy floors 9 through 25 of the North Tower in the North District. The first floor of the North Tower will house the hotel’s private elevator and the “Bean There, UMEDA” café space. The reception will be on the 11th floor, and the 13th through 25th floors will be used for guest rooms.

The hotel will have a total of 308 rooms, 53 of which are suites and 19 connecting rooms to meet the needs of all customers.

The 11th floor also features a reception area, “CC: CARBON COPY,” an all-day dining restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and a bar and lounge overlooking the redevelopment area, “!JAJA! In addition, there are three meeting facilities for various occasions and a 24-hour fitness center.

At the preliminary opening of Grand Green Osaka, the core facility “JAM BASE” and commercial facilities “Shops & Restaurants” in the North District and the lawn plaza in the South District will open at the same time.

The Umekita 2nd phase area is located north of JR Osaka Station, the largest terminal station in western Japan. It is a redevelopment project on the site of the former Umeda-Kita Yard, and follows Grand Front Osaka, which opened in 2013.

The total area of the Umekita Phase 2 “Grand Green Osaka” is approximately 91,150 m2, and is a large-scale complex development district with a total project cost of approximately 600 billion yen, centered on “Umekita Park,” which boasts 45,000 m2, the largest urban park in the world directly connected to the station, and includes the South and North Urban Areas.

The south wing, which will house commercial facilities, offices, and a hotel, is scheduled to open in the spring of 2025, and the entire town will open in 2027.
