Izu Shaboten Zoological Park (1317-13 Tomido, Ito City, Shizuoka Prefecture) will hold the “Original Capibara Outdoor Bath” from November 1.
This annual event started in 1982, and this year’s event started earlier than usual due to the event’s popularity. The event will be held from November 1 to 4, 9 to 10, and November 16 to April 5, 2025, once a day on weekdays from 13:30 to 14:30, and on weekends, holidays, and during winter and spring break from 10:30 to 11:30 and 13:30 to 14:30 on the first and second times.
On the first day of the event, November 1, a “capibara grass cutting” will be held at 10:30 a.m., which will resemble a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The bath will be “Oni Yuzu no Yu” (hot water of devil’s yuzu). On weekends and during the winter and spring breaks, there will also be “Daidai no Yu”, “Apple Yu”, and “Rose Yu”, among other baths.
