Keikyu begins selling tickets with credit card payment at ticket vending machines

Posted on 2024-09-052024-10-22 by Editor in Chief

Keihin Electric Express Railway will begin selling tickets by credit card payment at all 72 stations on the Keikyu Line except Sengakuji Station on October 1.

The new system enables inbound passengers using Haneda Airport to purchase a standard train ticket to their destination without the need to exchange money in advance, aiming to strengthen the system for accepting inbound passengers and further improve convenience.

Tickets can be purchased using credit cards at ticket vending machines (available in four languages: Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean) installed at all 72 Keikyu Line stations except Sengakuji Station. Six payment brands are accepted: Visa, Mastercard, JCB, American Express, Diners Club, and Discover.

In addition, in December, the company will launch the “verification experiment of a ride service using touch payment such as credit and debit cards,” which was announced in May. Accepted payment brands are Visa, JCB, American Express, Diners Club, Discover, and UnionPay, with Mastercard to be added in the future.

The target stations are Haneda Airport Terminals 1 and 2, Haneda Airport Terminal 3, Shinagawa, Keikyu Kamata, Kojiya, Otorii, Anamoriinari, Tenkubashi, and Yokohama. After the verification experiment at the nine stations, preparations will be made to enable passengers to get on and off by touch at all Keikyu Line stations by 2025.
