SoftBank started providing communication services around the trail of Tsurugidake (剱山), one of Japan’s 100 most famous mountains.
Tsurugidake is a 2999-meter-high mountain located in the Tateyama mountain range in the northern part of the North Alps. The trails are steep and rocky, and the mountain is considered one of the most difficult of the 100 most famous mountains in Japan.
SoftBank 4G LTE communication is available at Kenzanso and Tsurugidake (trailhead, trail, and mountain lodge area) and Tateyama and Tsurugi Gozen Hut (trail and mountain lodge area) from early July to early October, and at Tateyama and Raitoso (trail and mountain lodge area) from late April to late November during the open period of the mountain.
In addition, communication is available year-round at Tateyama Murodo (Murodou-daira), Tateyama trailhead (Murodo Terminal area), and Yoshida-guchi (trailhead and trail), and SoftBank 5G communication will also be supported at Tateyama Murodo. In addition, communication will be available in Yukino Otani, a spring sightseeing spot, during the period of service from mid-April to late June.
