Goemon is selling the LED-lit lantern “ANCOH-ANCOH-“, which can be used outdoors, on Make (Macauke) for pre-order. The sales period ends November 29, with delivery scheduled for the end of May 2025.
The company is offering an early-bird discount of 20% (38,800 yen) off the regular price of 48,500 yen. It is available in three colors: glaze, black, and sand.
Charging is by USB Type-C and solar, and the cable-less design allows for portability. Dimming and color control can be changed with a dial, and brightness can be adjusted from 1600 to 6000K. It also has a program that allows the light to flicker like a candle when the brightness is turned down to its minimum. When the lantern is closed, a sensor with a magnet automatically turns off the light, and when it is opened again, it lights up with the same brightness as before it was turned off.
The lanterns are produced by craftsmen and are designed to resist deterioration even after repeated opening and closing. In addition, a uniquely formulated adhesive is used to prevent separation of the Japanese paper from the framework string even when exposed to rain.
It measures 25 x 34.5 cm (diameter x height) when unfolded and 2.7 cm thick when folded, and comes with its own storage case.
