Start of tour of Macau city and hotels After arriving in Macau, we started exploring the city. First, we will visit the former site of the I Chong Firecracker Factory. The Yulon Firecracker Factory has a history of nearly 100 years and covers an area of about 25,000 m2. Although the site is now a park and a 400-meter walking path has been created, the layout and environment of the former production facility remains intact. It is a valuable place as a well-preserved legacy of Macau’s firecracker industry, which began to develop rapidly in the 1920s. There is a café and a souvenir store of creative products on the premises.
To WYNN PALACE Hotel The Cotai area is a fascinating place built on reclaimed land off the Macau Peninsula. The Cotai area is an enchanting place, built on reclaimed land off the coast of the Macau Peninsula. WYNN PALACE is a five-star hotel in a prime location. It is famous for its large-scale seasonal floral decorations, which are designed to “surprise and delight. It has a shopping plaza featuring world-famous brands, an “illuminarium” where you can experience the feeling of being in outer space, and a variety of fascinating restaurants. The glittering guest rooms are also very attractive.
Enjoy authentic Macanese cuisine at Casa Maquista for lunch. The Taipa Residential Museum is home to a green park and a house where the Portuguese actually lived more than 100 years ago. One of the residences is Casa Maquista, a restaurant that serves authentic Macanese cuisine, which is designated as an intangible cultural asset of Macau. Macanese cuisine is based on Portuguese cuisine, which uses Macau ingredients and spices, but has a different origin. The dishes are served one after the other as a course meal.
After dinner, take a stroll along Guanya Street, named after the Portuguese naval colonel who became the 81st Governor of Macau. It is now famous as “Food Street. It is home to Portuguese restaurants, milk puddings, egg tarts, jerky stores, and other delicacies that you can enjoy in Macau. On the day I visited, it was very busy.
Sneaking into Galaxy Macau, a world-class luxury integrated resort with eight luxury hotels totaling more than 5,000 rooms, suites, and villas. Andaz Macau, where I stayed, is one of these hotels. All of the hotels and the Galaxy Promenade, where brand-name stores and other facilities are located, are all under one roof, so you can move around without getting wet from the rain. At Galaxy Art, you can visit the “Egg House,” which is sure to be an Instagram hit. It combines an immersive environment, interactive exhibits, and playful aesthetics, cleverly integrating eggs into different areas of the house, including the living room, bedroom, and kitchen. This exhibit will be open until October 7, 2024. Afterwards, we will have a tea break at “CHA BEI,” which means a teacup, or a cup of tea. CHA BEI is a place of inspiration for travel, food, art, and design. I enjoyed the “NOSTALGIC REIMAGINING” afternoon tea. The afternoon tea menu changes with the seasons. After a relaxing time at CHA BEI, we headed to RAFFLES AT GALAXY MACAU. The 450 all-suite rooms are breathtaking. The luxurious atmosphere is accentuated by soft white and gray tones, deep burgundy sofas, and warm wood floors. Guests can also take a dip in the 40-meter-long outdoor infinity pool on the 6th floor.
Hot pot dinner at Broadway Food Street Hoi Ngan Hoi Kei, a popular restaurant brand that serves quality beef, is a must for beef lovers. The meat is delicately cut to allow you to taste the texture and flavor of the different parts of the beef, and when you shabu-shabu it for the prescribed amount of time, the exquisite flavor fills your mouth.
