JR East campaign to enjoy seafood from the Sea of Japan. 30% discount for Joetsu and Hokuriku Shinkansen up to 14 days in advance.

JR East has renewed the “Go to Hokuriku for Crab” campaign that has been running since fiscal 2017. The campaign will be renewed and called “I want to visit, eat, and enjoy the Sea of Japan! The campaign will run from September 17 to May 6, 2025. The campaign period is from September 17 to May 6, 2025.

Joetsu/Hokuriku Shinkansen 30% discount for Ekinet members only until 14 days before the departure date.

Discount tickets exclusively for Ekinet members will be available for the Joetsu Shinkansen and Hokuriku Shinkansen. In addition, a 30% discount on fares and charges will be offered if you use the “Shinkansen e-Ticket (Tokudate 14),” which can be purchased from one month to 14 days prior to the boarding date. The applicable seats are reserved seats in ordinary cars on the Joetsu Shinkansen “Toki” and “Tanigawa” and the Hokuriku Shinkansen “Kagayaki” and “Hakutaka” trains.

In conjunction with the campaign, JR East View Tourism & Sales will offer exclusive plans to enjoy seafood from the Sea of Japan through the “JR East View Dynamic Rail Pack” and “Travel in Japan, Travel by Rail”. The “JR East View Dynamic Rail Pack” offers discount coupons that can be used for travel products with overnight stays in Niigata and Hokuriku prefectures.

In the “Travel in Japan, Travel by Rail” section, package tour products featuring seafood from the Sea of Japan will be offered. The tours include a tour of Hokuriku in autumn, Awara Onsen and Yamashiro Onsen, and a tour to enjoy Hashidate Port tagged Kanou crab. Departure dates for the tours are November 17 and 24. The fare is 255,000 yen per adult (based on double occupancy).

Major travel agencies such as JTB and Club Tourism will also offer travel products to enjoy seafood from the Sea of Japan. For details, please refer to the pamphlet of each travel agency.
