JR Tokai, Mizuno, and JR Tokai Shoji will release the “Shinkansen 0 Series Model” on October 1 as the second Tokaido Shinkansen recycled aluminum bat. The company began accepting reservations for this product today, September 19. The price is 17,600 yen per bat, and 500 bats are planned to be released. The product will be available at Mizuno directly-managed stores and Mizuno’s official online store.
The metal bat for children was jointly developed by recycling aluminum used for the Tokaido Shinkansen N700 Series and other trains. Following the first bat, which was released in October 2023, the new bat is modeled after the first-generation Shinkansen “0 Series” in white and blue. The cap part of the bat is made to look like the nose of a Shinkansen to express the unique and adorable form of the Series 0. The window is designed in the image of the large type used in the “early Series 0” in 1964. It measures 74 cm and weighs 440 g.
