Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd. announced that Mitsui Outlet Park Marinpia Kobe (12-2 Kaigan Dori, Tarumi Ward, Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture), currently under reconstruction, will open on November 26. Prior to the opening, a preview was held for the press.
Mitsui Outlet Park Marinpia Kobe opened in October 1999 and closed in January 2023. The site area after the November opening will be approximately 99,400m2, 1.3 times larger than the former facility. A ticketless parking system will be introduced, and the number of parking spaces will be increased from 2,300 at the old facility to 2,800. The existing multi-story parking facility is being used for the new facility.
The centerpiece of the reconstruction will be the addition of LAGOON COMMUNITY PARK, where visitors can enjoy outdoor activities such as marine sports, a dog run, athletic activities, and barbecues. The shopping mall will also be completely redesigned as an indoor mall that is unaffected by weather, and a food court (2nd floor) and food marché (1st floor) will be newly built, with terraces overlooking the Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge and Awaji Island.
The number of outlets has increased by 15 from the previous 130 to 145 (including 5 outdoor outlets). A number of noteworthy stores will open for the first time at domestic and Kansai area outlets, including Mercedes-Benz, which will open its first store at a Kansai outlet.
Although only portions of the facility that had already been completed were open to the public during the preliminary preview, we were able to take a look around and see the general structure of the facility, which we will show you in the following photos.
