This facility opened as a new wing of Hotel Granvia Hiroshima (1-5 Matsubaracho, Minami-ku, Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture), a hotel directly connected to the north exit of JR Hiroshima Station, which opened in July 1987 as Hiroshima Terminal Hotel and changed its name to the current one in March 1995.

From March 2025, when the hotel will mark the 30th anniversary of its renaming to Hotel Granvia Hiroshima, it will operate as two hotels, Hotel Granvia Hiroshima and Hotel Granvia Hiroshima South Gate.
