Higashiyama Yuen has announced plans for a new urban development project at the site of the former Hoshigaoka Bowl (16-45 Hoshigaoka Motomachi, Chikusa-ku, Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture), which closed its doors on December 5, 2023.
The entire site area is 18,510.24m2 (including the existing No.2 Hoshigaoka Parking Lot/part of Hoshigaoka Terrace). The property is conveniently located adjacent to Hoshigaoka Terrace, a commercial facility operated by Higashiyama Yuen, and a 3-minute walk from Nagoya Municipal Subway Hoshigaoka Station. Surrounded by a green environment such as Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Garden and Heiwa Park, the area is also designated as an educational district where many universities and high schools are located and where a good living environment can be expected to be maintained.
In the first phase of this project, Higashiyama Yuen will construct a new building complex, including an expansion of Hoshigaoka Terrace. In addition, Sugiyama Jogakuen will build a new university facility, and the two businesses will jointly develop a pedestrian flow line and part of a plaza open to the town. The site area of Phase 1A is 11,254.35m2 (including the existing No.2 Hoshigaoka parking lot).
For the second phase of the project, new residential uses and additional commercial space are planned. Ultimately, the project will be a mixed-use development project that integrates “commercial,” “academic,” “plaza,” and “residential” development. The final opening is scheduled for the spring of 2028. An outline of the second-phase project will be disseminated in the spring of next year.
