East Japan Railway Company (JR East) will start running E5 Series Shinkansen wrapped cars and Yamanote Line AD trains (advertisement chartered trains) on October 16, six months before the opening of the 2025 Japan International Exposition (Osaka-Kansai Expo).
The E5 Series Shinkansen (one train) will be designed with the official Osaka-Kansai Expo character “Myakmyaku” and other designs. It will operate mainly between Tokyo and Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto as the Tohoku and Hokkaido Shinkansen “Hayabusa,” “Hayate,” “Yamabiko,” and “Nasuno” until around early October 2025.
The Yamanote Line AD Train is scheduled to run until October 31. Other promotions using transportation advertising media will begin on October 8, including posters at major stations and station concierges in the Tokyo metropolitan area, the “Train Channel” in-train vision system, digital signage, and broadcast on Shinjuku Wall 456.
