Casio Computer Co., Ltd. will release the GMC-B2100, an analog full-metal model with a chronograph from the G-SHOCK 2100 series, on October 18. The GMC-B2100D is priced at 104,500 yen and the GMC-B2100AD at 107,800 yen.
The “2100” series is characterized by its distinctive octagonal bezel and thin, stylish design; in 2019, the company launched the GA-2100, a digital-analog combination model with a modern take on the first G-Shock model.
This shock-resistant watch has a full-metal octagonal form with three in-dials and a full analog face. The top surface of the bezel and the band have a hairline finish. The bezel bevel slant is mirror-polished and the metal exterior models feature a chronograph with analog display.
The indexes and inner dials are said to have a high quality feel and high legibility through the application of vapor deposition to the modeling by microfabrication technology. The iconic octagonal design motif of the “2100” series is also used on the 9 o’clock subdial ring and the screw-lock crown.
The watch is powered by Tough Solar, which runs on fluorescent light and other low-light sources, eliminating the need for regular battery replacement. In addition, the Mobile Link function using Bluetooth allows users to set alarms, world time, and other functions from their smartphones.
