Tokyo Disney Resort and East Japan Railway Company announced that they will operate the Magical Journey Shinkansen, a bullet train designed for Tokyo DisneySea’s new Fantasy Springs theme port.
The service period is from October 10 to early June 2025, and the service section is the Tohoku and Hokkaido Shinkansen (between Tokyo and Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto). The main trains will operate as “Hayabusa,” “Hayate,” “Yamabiko,” and “Nasuno. The trains used will be the E5 Series (10 cars per train). On the first day, the “Hayabusa No. 2″ is scheduled to depart from Sendai Station at 06:35 and arrive at Tokyo Station at 08:07. This will be the first time that a fully wrapped Shinkansen train using the E5 series will operate.
Magical Journey Shinkansen” is a special train created in cooperation with Tokyo Disney Resort and JR East. The special design features the world of the new theme port “Fantasy Springs”.
The cars will be decorated with symbolic locations from the three Disney films that make up “Fantasy Springs” – “Anna and the Snow Queen,” “Rapunzel in the Tower,” and “Peter Pan” – as well as characters from the films. The curtains and melodies inside the train will also provide the atmosphere of the new theme port.
