On October 11, Okamedo will release “Piyorin Anmaki” (4 pieces), a collaboration with “Piyorin”, a Nagoya sweet from JR Tokai Food Service. Priced at 1,180 yen, they will be sold at Okamedo directly-managed stores, Toyohashi Station “kiosk” stores, and Roadside Station Toyohashi.
Although Toyohashi boasts the largest production of quail eggs in Japan, demand has decreased due to a mishap that occurred in February, resulting in a temporary overproduction. Therefore, in order to support quail farmers and protect the local specialty, a collaboration of three Aichi specialties from Owari-Nagoya and Mikawa-Toyohashi was realized.
The rich custard bean paste is made with egg yolks from quail eggs produced in Toyohashi. It is wrapped in a soft bean-jam roll skin and branded with the Piyorin branding.
