Takeda Castle Castle Town Hotel EN (363 Kamimachi west side, Takeda, Wadayama-cho, Asago City, Hyogo Prefecture), operated by Value Management, will sell Kumomi (sea of clouds) climbing sets from October 3 to November 30.
The Kumokai Climbing Set allows visitors to hike around the ruins of Takeda Castle, also known as “Castle in the Sky” or “Machu Picchu in Japan,” during the Kumokai season in late autumn from October to November, and enjoy the magnificent view. Priced at 660 yen per person, the package includes onigiri (rice balls), freeze-dried miso soup stock, Thermos water bottle (lent for hot water for miso soup), flashlight (to be placed in the room), paper cup, and warmer. This service is limited to hotel guests only, and reservations must be made at least three days in advance through the activities page on the official website.
The hotel is one of the “VMG HOTELS & UNIQUE VENUES” hotel brands that make use of historical buildings, and was opened in the fall of 2013 by revitalizing the former Kimura Sake Brewery (owned by Asago City). It has a total of 13 guest rooms.
For meals, authentic French cuisine featuring brand-name ingredients such as Tajima beef and Kaju crab, as well as fresh local vegetables, will be served along with locally brewed sake.
