On October 7, a groundbreaking ceremony was held at the planned site (1-5 Sakae-cho, Aoi-ku, Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture) for the opening of APA Hotel Shizuoka Ekimae in spring 2027.
Located a 3-minute walk from Exit E of the North Exit Underground Plaza (Shizuchika) of Shizuoka Station on the JR Tokaido Main Line and Tokaido Shinkansen Line. The area around the north exit of Shizuoka Station is a historic area that prospered as Sunpu Castle and Sunpu Castle Town, as well as an area where redevelopment projects are underway to construct a super high-rise complex. The hotel has a total of 418 guest rooms, the largest in Shizuoka City.
Rooms will be equipped with a 50-inch or larger LCD TV, APA’s original “SOFT FIT” down futon, two types of original pillows with different specifications, “PRIDE FIT” and “ADJUST FIT,” and air conditioners equipped with “high concentration nanoe X,” which is even more effective than Panasonic’s “nanoe X.”
The front desk will be equipped with a check-in machine that accepts eight types of smartphone payments, as well as a small desktop check-in machine that specializes in credit card payments. In addition, there will be a dedicated contactless app check-in machine and an express check-out post that automatically processes check-out in real time when the room card key is dropped in the mailbox.
