Posted on 2024-10-072024-11-04 by Editor in Chief

JAL, which has bases throughout Japan, has been continuously implementing regional revitalization initiatives (currently the “JAL Furusato Project”), and in August 2020 launched the “JAL Furusato Ambassadors,” cabin crew members selected through an in-house recruitment process who move to the area to promote initiatives in their respective regions. In December of the same year, JAL appointed “JAL Hometown Cheering Troops” who are involved in regional revitalization while serving on board. The aim is to develop products and solve regional issues for hometowns and other regions with which they have connections, utilizing the knowledge they have accumulated as flight attendants.

We interviewed Ms. Momoko Nobusue, a JAL Furusato Ambassador who is involved in the Peninsula Sai Sai Discover Kyushu Fair at the Kyushu Branch Office.

–What can you tell us about your initiatives?

Hello everyone. This time, we would like to introduce “JAL Peninsula Discovery Kyushu Fair” at “Ore no French Hakata” in Fukuoka Prefecture. Please take this opportunity to enjoy a special menu featuring ingredients from the various peninsulas of Kyushu, which are full of charm!

JAL has been implementing the “JAL Peninsula Project” under the Peninsula Promotion Measures promoted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism since 2022, and from this year, the project has been newly developed as “Peninsula Color Discovery.

Kyushu also has many attractive peninsulas and peninsulas with delicious foods, and we would like to introduce this event to let many of you know about them.

–How are you involved in this effort?

On September 29, the 10th edition of the “Traveling Makers Dinner” was held at “Ore no Grand Maison Otemachi” in Tokyo, where a special course menu featuring ingredients from the Kyushu peninsula was served. Two of us, JAL Furusato Ambassadors for Fukuoka Prefecture, hosted the event and introduced the ingredients and promoted the charm of the region.

In the hope that not only Otemachi in Tokyo, but also local residents can enjoy Kyushu’s peninsula ingredients, “Ore no French Hakata” will offer a special a la carte menu featuring ingredients from each peninsula of Kyushu for two weeks from October 1 to 14.

The recommended menu is all at ……!

However, we would like to introduce a little of the Miyazaki Wagyu Beef Meat Wrapped Risotto, which left the greatest impression on us among them. It is a satisfying dish made with luxurious Miyazaki Wagyu beef from the Oosumi Peninsula. The soft texture and smooth tongue of the Miyazaki Wagyu beef wrapped around the outside of the risotto left a great impression, and the flavorful risotto with cheese and nori that came afterward was very rich and truly exquisite. The risotto was rich and exquisite. The salmon roe and sea urchin were also used, so you can enjoy both meat and seafood, making it a great value for your money. Please enjoy it with a glass of Kyushu wine!

–What are your future plans and prospects?

The event was a great opportunity to learn more about the peninsulas of Kyushu and the fascinating foods that can be found on them, and JAL’s official shopping site has a special “HANTO DELICIOUS” page that features food and other attractions from the peninsulas of Japan. We would like to take this opportunity to introduce the charms of the peninsulas to everyone.

–What is your message to travelers?

In fact, on October 9, for 15 minutes from 19:30 to 45 minutes, Furusato Ambassadors in charge of Fukuoka, Yoshida and Nobusue, will appear on stage at “Ore no French Hakata” wearing their uniforms! We will introduce the event and briefly introduce the JAL Furusato Ambassadors’ activities. We are looking forward to meeting many of you, so please come to “Ore no French Hakata”!

On October 9, we will be at “Ore no French Hakata” and we are Mato yo~!
