JR East Japan Trading will start selling three types of “Suica no Penguin Rice” at TRAINIART JRE MALL stores and other locations on October 19. Each is priced at 800 yen.
To promote the attractiveness of Niigata Prefecture, a rice-producing region, this product was jointly planned with three local companies: Hitotsubu, Nogami Rice Grain, and Design on Nexus. The special package features a Suica penguin, which looks happy with a heaping pile of rice, and the bodies of the Inaho, E4, and E7 series trains associated with Niigata Prefecture. 300 g (about 2 cups) of Koshihikari rice produced in Niigata Prefecture is packed in the package. It is recommended as a souvenir or gift.
