JR West, JR West Real Estate Development, and JR West Osaka Kaihatsu announced the opening date of Umekita Green Place, a commercial facility directly connected to Osaka Station (Umekita area), with a partial opening of the station square on December 12 and full opening in March 2025.

The first 20 stores, including the first in Japan and the first in western Japan, will be located on the first through third floors. On the first floor, there will be a confectionery store “LE PINEAU,” a well-known confectionery store in Osaka, and other stores offering take-out sweets and food products for the adjacent Umekita Park and station users, as well as coin-operated lockers.

On the second floor, which is connected to LUCUA ELE and Osaka Station by a pedestrian deck, Maruya Honten, an eel restaurant that draws long lines at Nagoya Station, will open its first store in the Kansai region. In addition, Starbucks Coffee and Eggs’n Things will take advantage of their locations overlooking Umekita Park to open restaurants. In addition, an “urban food court” will be established to meet the needs of nearby office workers and residents, and five restaurants will be open: Yoshinoya, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Mos Burger, Marugame Seimen, and Mister Donut.

The top floor, the third floor, overlooks the verdant Umekita Park. At “Oyster & Italian Sky,” the first restaurant to open in Japan, diners can enjoy their meals in an open space with all seats having a view of the park. Sacré Fleur, an authentic bistro from Paris, France, and Yakiniku Ushigoro, a yakiniku restaurant that uses only A5-rank Japanese black beef, will make their first appearances in western Japan. The lineup of high-quality, authentic restaurants includes “Naniwa Menjiro Masashi miyabi,” a ramen restaurant whose Namba branch was the first echina restaurant in Japan to be awarded the Michelin Michelin star.

Osaka Station (Umekita area) will have a “Station Square” on the ground level to improve terminal functions. The cab and general vehicle loading/unloading areas are scheduled to open for use around 11:00 a.m. on December 12, and the large bus parking area is scheduled to open for use in March 2025.
