Shizuoka City will hold the Shimizu Port Tuna Festival 2024 at Shimizu Port on November 9-10.
At the venue in Shimizu Station East Exit Park (1575-75 Sodeshi-cho, Shimizu-ku, Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture), visitors can enjoy gourmet tuna dishes such as tuna seafood rice bowls, tuna dogs, tuna cutlet burgers, tuna ramen, etc. In addition, free tuna will be served to the first 500 visitors only on the 10th. A workshop for making smoked tuna will also be held.
Shimizu Fish Market (149 Shimazaki-machi, Shimizu-ku, Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture) will hold a tuna dismantling show with live commentary on the 10th. In addition, frozen tuna will be cut into pieces and sold at the market for immediate purchase. There will also be a corner selling all-you-can-stuffed tuna kama and other goods.
At the Port of Shimizu Refrigerator Complex, visitors will be able to enter a refrigerator where frozen tuna is stored and experience the world of -60°C on January 10.
