UNIQLO will open its global flagship store “UNIQLO Shinjuku Main Store” tomorrow, October 25. Located at 3-29-1 Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, on the former site of BICQLO, it is the fifth UNIQLO store in the Shinjuku area.

It consists of the first three floors above ground, with a total sales floor space of approximately 1,200 tsubo. In addition to an extensive lineup of women’s, men’s, children’s, and baby products, the Shinjuku main store offers a limited-edition “Godzilla 70th Anniversary UT” (1990 yen), and a collaboration of the “UTme!” service, which allows customers to create their own original items, and eight local companies: Oiwake Dango Honpo, Kanro, Shinjuku Suehiro-tei, Shinjuku Takano, Shinjuku Nakamuraya, Sekaido, Nissin Foods, and Bunmeido Tokyo. Nakamuraya, Sekaido, Nissin Foods, and Bunmeido Tokyo, all of which have ties to the area, will collaborate to produce T-shirts (1990 yen) and tote bags (1990 yen and up).

In addition, the Shinjuku flagship store will be a unique store in Shinjuku, which attracts visitors from Japan and abroad, by selling specially selected products for Europe and the United States that are not available in Japan as the “Shinjuku flagship store opening Europe and the United States special collection.

At the commemorative event held the day before, actors Haruka Ayase and Kohei Matsushita appeared on stage. The two, who are featured in this season’s TV commercials and tapestries in the store, showed off their fall/winter outfits, wearing items from the “Shinjuku Main Store Opening Special Collection,” which includes items previously sold only in Europe and the United States.

Ayase wore a tweed single-collar coat (12,900 yen), which can be arranged with a belt at the waist, and a 3D souffle yarn turtleneck vest (2,290 yen) as an inner layer, saying, “The knit inside is really soft and comfortable to the touch. What’s more, it looks like this, but the inside is sleeveless,” she said, appealing its ability to be worn according to the temperature and the occasion.

Matsushita wore a wool cashmere chester coat (17,990 yen) and other items. “I heard that they use two materials, cashmere and wool, and I thought that was why it had this feel. I also thought that since there is no narrowing around the shoulders or waist, a straight and beautiful silhouette can be created. It is thin, so when it gets a little colder, you can wear it with a parka inside,” he said, appealing the features and functionality of the design.

About the new store, Matsushita said, “I was surprised at the number of products. I looked around the floor, but it was a little too big and I got lost. I was excited. Ayase said, “There are a lot of mannequins, and I saw a lot of great styling, so I learned a lot about how to wear clothes like this.

The special collection for Europe and the U.S., which opened at the Shinjuku flagship store, also includes a wide selection of outerwear and knit items, with a total lineup of 17 models: 9 for women, 6 for men, and 2 for kids. All items will go on sale on October 25.

Also, during October 25-27, shoppers who spend 10,000 yen or more will receive a “Round Mini Shoulder Bag 3-way Compact” with new features. The popular round mini shoulder bag is now in a compact size, and can be carried in a variety of ways by detaching the carabiner from the handle strap and transforming it into three different patterns. The bag comes in a total of six colors, including black and khaki, and will be distributed at random.

Other events to celebrate the opening include the distribution of novelties, sweets, and free shoppers with original designs.
