On October 24, JAL held a ceremony to commemorate the first flight of an Airbus A350-1000 aircraft on its London route.
The A350-1000 is the company’s newest flagship aircraft, the first of which was launched on January 24 on the Haneda-New York route (JL05/06), and will replace the existing Boeing 777-300ER.
In addition to 6 seats in First Class and 54 seats in Business Class, which are the company’s first seats with private cabin-style seating, there are 24 seats in Premium Economy Class with electric recliners and 155 seats in Economy Class with pre-folding backrests, for a total of 239 seats. All seats also have personal monitors with 4K resolution and support for connection of hand-held Bluetooth headphones/earphones.
Since the first flight, JAL has operated the New York route (JL04/03) and the Dallas-Fort Worth route (JL11/12) in sequence, and today marks the long-awaited start of service to the European route. For the time being, the airline will operate the 777-300ER and the 777-300ER every other day.
