Columbia Sportswear Japan has released the GRAND TREK III DOWN HOODED JACKET, featuring its proprietary heat-reflective insulation technology “Omni-Heat Infinity. The jacket is priced at 29,700 yen and is available in four sizes (S-XL) and five colors.
Omni-Heat Infinity is a technology that maintains a comfortable temperature by reflecting body heat through golden dot prints, warming the inside of the garment while allowing moderate ventilation. The technology is used not only in Columbia jackets, but also in shoes and headwear, and in May, it was used in the attack wear of the Everest climbing team.
The down hooded jacket is further equipped with Omni-Tech, a waterproof and breathable function. The company claims that it is resistant to snow and rain and prevents the down from losing its heat retention due to wetness. The down air chambers have a baffle structure with crimped rather than sewn construction to enhance heat retention.
The “HOPE PINES FOREST III INSULATED JACKET,” a padded jacket also equipped with Omni-Heat Infinity, will also be offered. Priced at 24,200 yen, it is available in four sizes from S to XL, each in four colors.
It is made of a light and durable micro rip woven material with a thin padding for comfort when worn. The outer fabric is equipped with Omni-Shield, a water repellent function that prevents light rain.
