The “Global ICT Industry Collaboration Promotion Project (Armenia, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan),” a technical cooperation project launched last November, aims to promote collaboration between Japanese companies and ICT companies in Armenia, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan, and is implementing matching and pilot projects between Japanese companies and companies in target countries. The project aims to promote cooperation between Japanese companies and ICT companies in Armenia, Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Through this project, we aim to contribute to the development of the ICT fields in these three countries and the expansion of Japanese companies’ businesses by promoting collaboration with ICT companies in these three countries in areas such as joint product development, research, and offshore development.
(The venue: Opening)
In this seminar, the heads of JETRO offices in Armenia, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka gave an overview of the market in each country, including trends in the ICT field, and Deloitte Tohmatsu Venture Support introduced local ICT companies and examples of collaboration. While these ICT companies are highly regarded globally, especially in the U.S., they are almost unknown in Japan, and the Japanese companies that participated in the seminar showed great interest in the examples of collaboration.
In addition, the guest speakers shared their real experiences of working with Japanese companies, the local business environment, and IT human resources. During the networking session after the seminar, there was a lively exchange of opinions with Japanese companies interested in collaborating with companies in the three countries.
A total of 74 people from Japanese companies and local governments participated in the event, both offline and online, and it was an opportunity to expand the image of collaboration with the local community.
This project will continue to promote collaboration between Japanese and other companies in Armenia, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan by matching ICT companies with Japanese companies and pilot projects.
(Venue: Matching and Pilot Projects)
JICA is currently inviting applications for matching ICT companies from these three countries with Japanese companies and for participation in pilot projects!
If you are interested in doing business with the three countries or expanding overseas, how about just having an interview first?
