On October 30, JR East announced that TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY, a redevelopment project underway around Takanawa Gateway Station, will open on March 27, 2025.

In conjunction with this, the company simultaneously announced the opening of Newuman Takanawa, the largest commercial facility in Lumine’s history, within Takanawa Gateway City. Newman Takanawa is one of five buildings within Takanawa Gateway City, consisting of three buildings: THE LINKPILLAR I South (floors 1-5) and THE LINKPILLAR I North (floors 1-5/28-29), twin towers directly connected to the station, and the adjacent THE LINKPILLAR II (2-3F), which is located next to THE LINKPILLAR I South (1-5F) and THE LINKPILLAR I North (1-5F/28-29F), with a total floor area of approximately 60,000m2 and approximately 200 stores.

The first part of the building will open on March 27, 2025, followed by the opening of “THE LINKPILLAR I” in the fall of 2025 and “THE LINKPILLAR II” in the spring of 2026.

LUMINE Corporation, which has been developing commercial facilities in terminal locations, mainly in train stations, has decided to participate fully in large-scale urban development, aiming to create a facility that goes beyond conventional commercial facilities and shopping as a challenge to “urban development that looks 100 years into the future. Lumine Corporation, which has been developing commercial facilities centered on the station at the terminal location, will participate in large-scale urban development on a full scale.

More details will be announced as they become available on the special website released today.
