ANA will release on Makuake a limited edition of 160 custom-made name objects made from the cabin windows of the Boeing 787. Applications will be accepted from November 1 at 10:00 until January 28, 2025.
Two types of fonts are available: gothic font and italic bold font, priced from 23,000 yen. A dedicated stand is available as an option, priced at 3,300 yen.
In collaboration with Mie Plastics, which also processes the main wing components of ANA’s Boeing 787, the objects will be cut out using the same water-jet process used for aircraft parts, and ANA mechanics will laser engrave the corporate symbol and the registration symbol under which the windows were mounted.
Also included will be a card with detailed specifications, including the date the aircraft was delivered from Boeing to ANA and the size of the aircraft. The products are scheduled to ship in April 2025.
The removed windows would normally be discarded, but the company created this product with the idea of “upcycling a part of the aircraft that is filled with the thoughts and feelings of the mechanics.
