BANDAI SPIRITS announced on November 6 that construction of a new plastic model production plant, Bandai Hobby Center (Naganuma, Aoi-ku, Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture), will be completed in January 2025. Operations will begin around the same summer.
The new plant is being built on a 14,724 m2 site near the current main building, and a new tour course will be set up.
The company has been working to increase plastic model production capacity through expansion of the new building (to start operation in December 2020) and cooperation with partner companies, and the full-scale operation of the new plant in FY2026 is expected to enable an increase in production by about 35% compared to FY2023.
