Tokyo Skytree Town (1-1 Oshiage, Sumida-ku, Tokyo) held an illumination lighting ceremony on November 7 in conjunction with the “Tokyo Skytree Town Dream Christmas 2024” winter event.

The guest was actress/model Hikaru Takahashi, who for the first time this year unveiled the “Staircase Graphical Lighting,” which illuminated both the Soramizaka (Oshiage Station side) and Hanamizaka (Tobu-Tokyo Skytree Station side) staircases with LED graphical lighting. Together with the official character “Sorakara-chan,” the entire Tokyo Skytree Town was illuminated with approximately 500,000 lights.

In addition to the three regular types of lighting “Iki”, “Miyabi”, and “Nobori”, Tokyo Sky Tree will also launch two types of limited-time lighting: “Champagne Tree”, which will resemble a Christmas tree, and “Candle Tree”, which will resemble a candle.

Dressed in a wintery white one-piece dress, Takahashi looked up at the towering Tokyo Sky Tree and said, “It’s the biggest Christmas tree in the world. It’s amazing! She looked surprised and said, “It’s the biggest Christmas tree in the world! In addition to a photo session with Sorakara-chan, who was dressed in a limited edition Christmas costume, Takahashi showed off the spectacular view from the observation deck, the sweets available at Tokyo Solamachi, and other Christmas attractions.

In addition, the “Sky Arena” on the 4th floor of TOKYO SKYTREE TOWN, the main venue, will feature a 4-meter-tall “twinkle three stars” sculpture of Sorakara-chan, an 8-meter-tall Christmas tree with a wintery snow-covered design, and a “Pegasus Carriage” sculpture made in cooperation with JRA Nakayama Horse Racing Track. The “Pegasus Carriage,” designed in cooperation with JRA’s Nakayama Racecourse, will be installed. Visitors can enjoy taking commemorative photos as a photo spot.

The annual “Christmas Market” is also being held at the Sky Arena. A 4-meter-long giant Stollen will appear in a luxurious hutte decorated with monuments imported from Germany, adding to the Christmas spirit. Warm gourmet foods, drinks, and Christmas goods will also be on sale.

Christmas illumination and special lighting can be enjoyed until December 25, during the “Tokyo Skytree Town Dream Christmas 2024” period. Fairs and campaigns are also being held at restaurants and stores in Tokyo Solamachi and at the Tokyo Skytree observation deck.
