Mitsui Fudosan to Open Top-Level Luxury Hotel in Kowakudani, Hakone in 2026 “HOTEL THE MITSUI HAKONE

Posted on 2024-11-072024-11-28 by Editor in Chief

Mitsui Fudosan and Mitsui Fudosan Resort Management announced that HOTEL THE MITSUI HAKONE (450-1, Minosakuzawa, Kowakudani, Hakone-cho, Ashigarashita-gun, Kanagawa, and other lot numbers) is scheduled to open in 2026.

Mitsui Fudosan Group’s top luxury hotel, following “HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO” opening in November 2020. The company is also working with Marriott International’s Luxury Collection.

The hotel is located within the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, a 2-minute walk from Owakudani Station on the Hakone Tozan Railway. Surrounded by nature, the hotel occupies a vast site of over 135,000 m2 (the equivalent of three Tokyo Domes), part of which and the surrounding area were once a collection of villas belonging to the Mitsui family.

The hotel has 3 floors above ground and 2 floors below with a total of 126 rooms (average 60m2) of various room types, including villas of over 100m2 and presidential suites of over 240m2.

Ancillary facilities include a restaurant, bar, thermal spring, and fitness gym. Natural hot spring water is drawn from an onsite source to all guest rooms and the thermal spring, and the all-day dining and specialty restaurants offer seasonal cuisine with outdoor terrace seating and open windows overlooking the magnificent natural surroundings.
