Studio Tour This is one of the most popular events in London. We went to a media preview, so let’s take a look at some of the highlights.
You can see the beautiful “Hogwarts Castle” in winter! The 1:24 scale model of Hogwarts Castle is covered with ultra-realistic snow applied by artisans. During Hogwarts in the Snow, the castle’s distinctive roof and stone walls will be covered in pure white snow, transforming it into a magical atmosphere. The delicate powder snow was applied by hand by craftsmen just as they did during the filming of the movie, and it is beautiful and very realistic. The model is huge, even at one twenty-fourth the size, but by climbing the ramp that circles the castle, visitors can take a closer look at the greenhouse behind Hogwarts Castle and the Forbidden Forest. The lighting on the model slowly changes from a bright daytime image to a dim nighttime image. The difference in atmosphere and appearance depending on the time of day is also noteworthy. The models are said to be indispensable tools in the filming of a movie. The first version of the Hogwarts model was made by 86 craftsmen for the filming of “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. During filming, the elaborate model was combined with digital effects to create a realistic depiction of the wizarding world, and more than 2,500 optical fibers were used to represent lamps and torches for lighting and many other scenes. For the first public showing of “Hogwarts in the Snow” in Japan, the props and models in the Great Hall were decorated by Filmmaker, who also worked on the art production for the “Harry Potter” and “Fantastic Beasts” movies. In order to faithfully reproduce the world of the movies, the staff from the time of filming were brought back together, and everything was created in the same way, down to the materials and processes. Visitors can immerse themselves in the Christmas world of Harry Potter, a world that is the culmination of the craftsmen’s attention to detail and skill.
