Oku-Nikko Hotel Shikisai (2485 Nakagu Shrine, Nikko-shi, Tochigi Prefecture), a hot spring inn of Lilo Hotels & Resorts, will offer an “Astronomical Observation Plan” from December 1 to March 31, 2025, to enjoy the winter starry sky of Nikko in a casual manner. Prices start at 21,450 yen per night with two meals (per person based on double occupancy).
A rental set of an astronomical telescope, outdoor chair, kettle, mug, and blanket are included in the privilege, and stargazing is available from a spot near the facility with no need to bring your own. You are also free to bring your favorite beverage from the lounge, and after enjoying the starry sky, you can relax and soak in the hot springs.
Located in the forest of Nikko National Park, the facility has a total of 36 rooms of six types, including rooms with open-air baths and Japanese-style rooms with sunken kotatsu (sunken kotatsu), each with a view of the four seasons. The meals are locally produced and locally consumed, and include local cuisine using seasonal ingredients. The astronomical observation plan includes the most popular kaiseki dinner, the bamboo course, and a Japanese breakfast served in a flower basket in the morning.
In the lounge, guests can enjoy a wide variety of drink service in front of the fireplace while admiring the natural beauty of Nikko National Park.
