Nankai Electric Railway will implement a timetable revision on December 21. The revision is in response to increasing railroad demand for the airport line and in anticipation of the Osaka-Kansai Expo, which will open in April 2025. Note that the number of passengers transported on the airport line in the first half of FY2024 (April-September) reached a record high.
For the Rapito limited express service between Namba, Osaka and Kansai Airport, some of the limited express Rapito β trains (stopping at 8 stations) will be changed to the limited express Rapito α (stopping at 6 stations: passing Sakai Station and Kishiwada Station). On weekday schedules, 20 of 55 Rapito β trains will become Rapito α, and on weekends and holidays, 24 of 59 Rapito β trains will become Rapito α.
In addition, some of the airport express trains that currently operate with six cars will be increased to eight cars, and the number of trains will be increased by three on weekday schedules and one on weekend and holiday schedules.
In addition, some train types, operation times, and arrival/departure numbers will be changed, the number of trains on the Kata Line will be increased or decreased, and the last train on the Koya Line (between Shiomibashi Station and Kishisatotamade Station) will be moved up. The timetable and other information on the official website will be updated as needed.
