Gakken has released “Japan’s Cute Local Toys Coloring Book. The book is AB size, 104 pages, and priced at 1,540 yen.
The book features 47 coloring pictures based on traditional toys from all over Japan, such as wooden bears from Hokkaido, dog hariko from Tokyo, and sarubobo from Gifu Prefecture, which have been kept at home as lucky charms or seen in souvenir stores in travel destinations.
On the back of each coloring book, trivia about the local toys, such as their origin, how to play with them, and the wishes behind them, are also introduced. Once completed, the pages can be cut out and displayed anywhere you like.
