Meiji University acquired the land and building of the Yamanoue Hotel (1-1 Kanda-Surugadai, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo).
The building was built with a donation from Keitaro Sato, a graduate of the school, and had been operating as “Yamanoue Hotel” since 1954, but has been closed since February of this year due to its aging.
The university is considering redeveloping the building as part of its 150th anniversary project in 2031, and utilizing it for student support, regional cooperation, and social collaboration, while retaining its hotel function. Renovation work will be carried out while maintaining the current appearance, and the building will be inherited as a symbol of the university.
