Nishi-Nippon Railroad will conduct the “Complete Cashless Bus Demonstration Operation,” an initiative of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, on some routes from December 3 to February 28, 2025.
The demonstration service will cover two routes: one connecting the Fukuoka Airport International Terminal and JR Hakata Station, and the other a BRT route circulating in the city center of Fukuoka City. To make the “completely cashless” system known, stickers will be displayed at the entrance to the buses and LED directional signs will be displayed on the sides of the buses.
In addition, a “nimoca point awarding campaign” will be conducted, offering 5% of the amount spent back in points to those who use nimoca for travel on eligible routes. The campaign will run from December 3 to January 31, 2025.
