Nose Electric Railway will start a touch-payment boarding service at all stations from March 2025.
This service utilizes “stera transit,” a solution for public transportation provided by Sumitomo Mitsui Card Co. By touching a touch-sensitive card (credit, debit, or prepaid) or a smartphone with the card installed to a dedicated reader installed at a ticket gate, passengers can pass through the ticket gate and board the bus.
The payment brands covered are Visa, JCB, American Express, Diners Club, Discover, and UnionPay, with Mastercard to be added in the future.
Touch payment history can also be checked by accessing QUADRAC’s Q-move site and going through the member registration process on My Page.
