Casio Computer Co., Ltd. will start selling “Sa Clock,” a sauna watch that can switch between clock display and 12-minute counter with a single push and is resistant to high temperature and humidity, on December 2, 2012 at 12:00 pm on Make.
Two original Kashio models in two colors and a model with the logo and colors of the sauna search site “Sauna Kitai” will be available. The regular price for the Saunaikitai model is 11,300 yen, and the early bird discount will be applied to the first 30 units. The products are scheduled to be shipped in June 2025.
This watch is specially designed to measure moderate time in the sauna, and its functions are limited to time display and 12-minute counter using analog. 12-minute counter measures elapsed time while the current time can be checked at the touch of a button. The heat-resistant battery and waterproof case are designed to withstand the high temperatures and humidity of a sauna by using a highly moisture-permeable resin. It is water resistant to 5 atmospheres and can be used in saunas with a temperature setting of 100°C or lower (within 15 minutes of being worn on the arm).
The band is easy to put on and take off and uses a curl band commonly used in hot bath facilities. The main unit measures 40.2 x 35.4 x 12.9 mm and weighs 24.5 g.
