As part of the “GRAND CYCLE TOKYO” project, a bicycle initiative by the Bureau of Lifestyle, Culture and Sports, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government will hold the “Rainbow Ride” event on December 1, 2012, in which participants will ride through the Rainbow Bridge and Tokyo Gate Bridge by bicycle.

The event will run on the Metropolitan Expressway and public roads in the waterfront area (Odaiba, Umi-no-Mori, Wakasu, etc.), and traffic regulations will be enforced in conjunction with the event.

General roads will be restricted from around 6:00 to 13:00, and the Metropolitan Expressway will be closed from around 4:00 to 14:00. The Metropolitan Expressway will be restricted from Shibaura JCT to Ariake JCT, and Shibaura PA and Daiba entrances and exits will also be closed.

In addition, due to the traffic restrictions, local buses and airport buses will be suspended or delayed. The affected buses include the Umi 01, Yoh 12-3, Naogyo 03, Kyukyo 05, Kyukyo 06 (Koto-ku Fukagawa shuttle), and Ki 11 Kou of Toei Bus, the Odaiba Rainbow Bus of KM Mobility Service, the Haneda Airport and Narita Airport routes of Tokyo Airport Transport (Limousine Bus), KABA BUSH, SKY Duck, SKY BUS, Kanto Bus’s Kichijoji-Odaiba direct bus, Hato Bus, Tokyo BRT, etc. For details, please check each bus company’s website.
