Keio Dentetsu x Hitachi, AI Station Attendant Service. Touch displays installed at Hashimoto and Keio Tama Center

Posted on 2024-11-272024-12-15 by Editor in Chief

Keio Corporation and Hitachi, Ltd. will conduct a demonstration experiment to realize an AI station attendant service at Hashimoto Station and Keio Tama Center Station on the Sagamihara Main Line. The period is from December 2 to March 2, 2025.

In this verification experiment, AI-equipped touch panel displays will be installed at stations to collect and analyze information that users want to know, and provide information in a timely manner, aiming to realize comfortable station use. The background of this project is that station attendants are required to provide highly sophisticated services in response to the declining working population due to the falling birthrate and aging population, and the increasing number of foreign tourists visiting Japan due to the rising demand for inbound travel.

The AI station attendant automatically responds to questions asked on the touch panel display, and by having the generated AI learn the content of the questions to be answered, the system is able to automatically respond with a high degree of legitimacy and response accuracy. In addition, station attendants can freely create and configure projection information, making the system highly scalable to meet their needs and the range of questions and answers to be provided for each season and event, according to the company.

In addition, the system can be linked to Keio Corporation’s website to display the latest operation information and guide visitors to the latest information on the premises when the timetable is disrupted, and it can also support inbound demand by incorporating multilingual functions (in Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean in the demonstration experiment).
