ANA will renew the check-in counters and security checkpoints for senior members at Haneda Airport Terminal 2.
ANA SUITE CHECK-IN” for ANA Mileage Club Diamond Service members will open on December 2, “ANA PREMIUM CHECK-IN” for advanced members (Diamond/Platinum/Super Flyers) and premium class passengers (north side) on December 18, and the south side will open in the summer of 2025 The south side will be switched in phases in the summer of 2025.
Prior to the reopening, we were able to see inside the ANA SUITE CHECK-IN for Diamond members.
The major topics are the addition of check-in counters and the introduction of smart lanes, the latter of which, in particular, has been a cause of congestion at the existing SUITE CHECK-IN due to the old inspection machines, which required passengers to remove liquids and laptop computers from their bags, etc. The relocation after December 2 The smart lanes that will accompany the relocation and renewal of the system after December 2 will speed up processing by up to three times.
SUITE CHECK-IN, which will be relocated right next to security checkpoint C, has a façade made of ceramic plates recycled from broken in-flight and other used tableware. The ceramic plate has a heavy black finish for SUITE CHECK-IN (blue for PREMIUM CHECK-IN) and a diamond-shaped design that incorporates the design of the company’s tail fin, which is also used in its logo.
Stepping inside, one finds a spacious space with six check-in counters, including a low table that can accommodate wheelchairs. Behind them is a plastered wall created by craftsman Yusei Kusumi and a large silver ANA logo, and the counter’s acrylic panels have a Japanese paper feel to them, creating a space with a Japanese taste. In addition, natural linoleum manufactured by Carbon Neutral is used for the flooring material.
There are two terminals at the back of the facility that read boarding passes by QR code or other means, and further in is a smart lane (one lane was also available for older inspection machines).
The ANA PREMIUM CHECK-IN (north side), which will be renewed on January 18, was still under construction at the time of the interview, and we were only able to confirm the appearance of the entrance. However, seven check-in machines will be installed next to the facade, and smart lanes will be introduced as in the SUITE CHECK-IN. The time required for security check-in is expected to be shortened.
