Osaka Metro (Osaka City Rapid Transit) will open “e METRO MOBILITY TOWN,” a limited-time future mobility experience theme park, on January 11, 2025.
The “EV/automated bus area” and “EV kart circuit area” were opened earlier on November 30, and the “Mirai experience area,” “outdoor food square,” and “flying car area” will be newly added at the grand opening in January 2025.
The Mirai Experience Area will reuse retired subway cars of the 20 series. Six booths will be set up to allow visitors to experience the “Osaka Mobility of the Future,” including a virtual time-space tour using the latest technologies such as projection mapping and metaverse.
The outdoor food square will sell original products, including drink and food menus inspired by each of the Osaka Metro lines.
Details of the flying car area will be announced at a later date. Visitors will be able to enter the facility through the facial recognition lane after purchasing an admission ticket with the e METRO App and linking their facial information.
