JR Tokai to Revise Timetable on March 15. Nozomi” reserved seats expanded, some restrooms to be women-only, etc.

Posted on 2024-12-132025-01-13 by Editor in Chief

JR Tokai will implement a timetable revision on March 15, 2025.

On the Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen “Nozomi” trains, Car No. 3 will be changed to reserved seats on all trains. As a result, there will be 11 cars with reserved seats and 2 cars with non-reserved seats in the standard carriages.

In addition, one of the two restrooms in odd-numbered cars (except No. 11) in all 16-car trains, including those other than “Nozomi” trains, will be designated for women only.

In addition, the number of extra “Nozomi” trains will be expanded: one more down train each between Tokyo Station and Shin-Osaka Station at 06:00 and 21:00 (based on the first station), and some morning down trains and evening up trains in the same section will depart from Shin-Osaka Station and arrive at Hakata Station instead of arriving at Shin-Osaka Station. In addition, the regular “Nozomi” train departing from Tokyo Station at 19:00 will be changed from Shin-Osaka Station to Hakata Station on certain days as a temporary service.

On the conventional lines, the track facilities at Toyohashi Station will be improved so that trains bound for Nagoya and Hamamatsu can change lines 7 and 8 face-to-face.
