JR West will implement a timetable revision on March 15, 2025. The main points of the revision are described here.
On the Shinkansen “Nozomi”, Car 3 will be changed to reserved seats on all trains. As a result, there will be 11 cars with reserved seats and 2 cars with non-reserved seats in the standard carriages. In addition, all daily “Nozomi” trains operated by N700S will be operated with business booths. In addition, one of the two restrooms in odd-numbered cars (except No. 11) in all 16-car trains, including those other than “Nozomi,” will be reserved exclusively for women.
In addition, a temporary “Sakura” train will depart Kagoshima Chuo Station at exactly 6:00 a.m. and arrive at Shin-Osaka Station at 9:59 a.m., and additional temporary “Nozomi” and “Kagayaki” trains will depart at different times.
As for limited express trains on conventional lines, the “Mahoroba”, which has been operating as a temporary train to the Nara area, will be changed to a regular train operating on weekends and holidays, and the weekday “Rakuraku Yamato” will newly stop at Yao Station and Kashiwabara Station. The “Rakuraku Harima” on the JR Kobe Line will make one more round trip, and the “Kounotori” on the JR Takarazuka Line will add Kawanishi Ikeda Station and Nakayamadera Station to its stops. All “Uzushio” trains will operate between Takamatsu Station and Tokushima Station, and will stop at Okayama Station.
In addition, “Mahoroba” also announced that two renewal trains will be introduced after April. The first “Anei” train is scheduled to enter service on April 5, and the second “Yukyu” train will begin service in the fall.
For Expo transportation, 14 down trains and 12 up trains will be operated on the “Expo Liner” between Sakurajima Station and Shin-Osaka Station, where shuttle buses to the venue depart and arrive, and rapid and local trains on the Osaka Loop Line, JR Yumesaki Line, and Hanwa Line will also be increased.
In addition, as previously announced, “Kaisoku Ouwashito” reserved-seat trains will be newly available on the Biwako Line, JR Kyoto Line, JR Sagano Line, and JR Takarazuka Line on conventional lines. The number of trains on some existing lines will also be increased. In the Hiroshima area, trains will be increased mainly during daytime hours in advance of the opening of the Hiroshima Station Building “Minamore”.
