H.I.S. Hotel Holdings has rebranded Watermark Hotel Kyoto as Henna Hotel Premier Kyoto Gojo Karasuma (195 Daikoku-cho, Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture).

The “Weird Hotel Premier” is a new top-tier brand established as part of a multi-brand strategy to more closely monitor trends and needs. It is said to feature higher quality amenities and more advanced facilities than regular Weird Hotels.

Located approximately 2 minutes on foot from Gojo Station on the Kyoto Municipal Subway Karasuma Line, the hotel has a total of 122 guest rooms. With the rebranding, the hotel has introduced Express Check-in, which allows guests to check in in as little as 10 seconds, and a “flap display,” a visual display that changes as the flap rotates. In addition, baggage lockers have been installed to allow guests to leave their luggage without the need for hotel staff.

The rooms are equipped with Simmons bed mattresses and Loftay pillows for a good night’s sleep, and Phiten Water, Phiten’s premium water, is used for all water in the hotel.

The five new Premier Suites feature an Ojami cushion from Kyoto’s long-established cushion store Rakuchu Takaokaya, a Honma Hiki-Dyed Noren (a traditional Japanese curtain dyed in real hemp), and a BEAUTECH DRYER PRO hair dryer from beauty manufacturer ReFa. In addition, there is a minibar with free “Okogehan” rice crackers from Kyoto Confectionery Workshop Ichihana Datte and “Shizen no Shurei” mineral water from Gekkeikan, the oldest sake brewery in Fushimi, Kyoto.

In addition, the restaurant “Gyu-Meshi Gocho” opened on the first floor of the hotel. Under the theme of “Seasonality and Beauty of Color,” the restaurant will offer beef rice cooked in five different ways: baking, boiling, steaming, cooking, and mixing.
