Central Japan Exis will open “Matsuya Shokudo, Makinohara SA Upstream Branch” at Makinohara SA (Upstream) on the Tomei Expressway, the first of its kind among highway SA/PAs nationwide. The opening date is December 21.

On November 26, the food court and shopping corner on the small car parking lot side were renovated, and with the renovation of the food court on the large car parking lot side, the full reopening of all stores will be realized.

In addition to regular menu items such as beef rice and yakiniku set menus sold at regular Matsuya restaurants, Matsuya Shokudo will offer as its main menu a one-soup, three-course set meal consisting mainly of tonkatsu (pork cutlets) from Tonkatsu Matsunoya and homemade pork miso soup prepared in the restaurant. In particular, the homemade pork miso soup is said to be a special dish using many ingredients such as pork, radish, carrot, potato, konnyaku, onion, and tofu.

Items on sale include a loin cutlet with special pork miso soup set meal with mini beef plate (1,080 yen), a fried horse mackerel morning set meal with natto (680 yen), and a Tsukimi beef udon cutlet bowl set (1,240 yen). To celebrate the opening, the restaurant will also offer free rice refills to those who order from the set meal menu. The offer will be available from 10:00 on December 21 to 15:00 on January 31, 2025.
