Toei will pre-sell a wristwatch featuring the 0 Series Shinkansen bullet train on Makuake from December 23 to January 30, 2025 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Tokaido Shinkansen’s opening.
The regular sales price is 49,500 yen, but the company is offering a 30% discount (34,650 yen), including a very early bird discount.
The design incorporates the Series 0 series in every detail, including the long hand with the motif of the Series 0 light front and the motif of the front beacon light. Two colors are available: white and blue. The dials are engraved with the operating distance from Tokyo to Shin-Osaka for the white model and from Shin-Osaka to Tokyo and the station name for the blue model.
Equipped with a Japanese movement, 24 time zone displays, and a Seiko Epson alarm function that allows the user to set the time 12 hours ahead, the watch is limited to 600 pieces. The back of the watch is engraved with the words “60th Anniversary of the Tokaido Shinkansen,” the Series 0 Shinkansen, and the edition number.
The box is designed to look like a first-class car (green car) of the Series 0 Shinkansen. It comes with an original postcard and a Shinkansen express ticket ticket-style guarantee card (warranty card). The white model is designed from Tokyo to Shin-Osaka, and the blue model from Shin-Osaka to Tokyo.
